Totton South and Marchwood

Kevin Smith

My name is Kevin Smith. After 16 years in shipbuilding, 2 years at Eastleigh Carriage Works, and a successful career in sales and marketing in the construction industry, I started my own business and registered a UK patent. Now I want to serve the community I live in.

I’m standing as the Reform UK candidate for Totton South & Marchwood because local people are rightly furious about Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).

Under the current plans, our division is being carved off from the New Forest and bundled into a giant new unitary authority dominated by Southampton. This means:

  • Our voice will be drowned out by urban priorities

  • Important decisions about housing, roads, flooding and services will be made by people who don’t understand our area

  • The unique character and needs of Totton and Marchwood risk being ignored

Residents have made it clear — we do not want to be separated from the New Forest. We want to stay part of a council that understands our communities, not become an afterthought in a big-city led authority.

My Priorities for Totton South & Marchwood

  • Fight LGR Carve-Up — I will strongly oppose any plan that splits us away from the New Forest. I will be a loud, experienced voice demanding that Totton South & Marchwood remain properly connected to the Forest and keep real local control.

  • Housing for Local People — Stop overdevelopment and sprawl. We need genuinely affordable homes for families who live and work here, not estates built for outsiders.

  • Fix the Basics — Tackle flooding and drainage problems, repair roads, and sort out the chronic traffic congestion on the A326 and A35.

  • Value for Money — Cut waste on consultants, DEI schemes and net-zero targets so your council tax delivers real improvements instead of more bureaucracy.

  • Protect Families & Pensioners — Keep schools free from liberal indoctrination and fully back Reform UK’s pledge to protect the Triple Lock on pensions.

I’ve worked hard all my life and I know the value of common sense and straight talking. If you want a councillor who will fight tooth and nail against being carved off from the New Forest and who will always put Totton and Marchwood residents first, then I ask for your support.

Vote Kevin Smith – Reform UK

Keep Totton & Marchwood in the New Forest
