Ringwood Reform UK Candidate

Ringwood

Martin Eyre

Martin Eyre Reform UK Candidate for Ringwood a Local Voice for Real Change in Ringwood. Martin Eyre is a proud Ringwood resident and longstanding member of the community. Like so many of you, he has watched with growing frustration as our market town has been let down by distant decision-makers who put net-zero targets, DEI schemes, and national bureaucracy ahead of the everyday needs of local people. Martin joined Reform UK because the old parties no longer deliver for places like Ringwood. After years of seeing council tax rise while services decline, housing developments that serve outsiders rather than local families, and the A31 traffic chaos that chokes our town, he decided it was time for Local First politics — decisions made by people who actually live here, for people who live here.

Why Martin is Standing

Ringwood is a vibrant market town with a proud history, a thriving high street, and strong community spirit. But we face real pressures:

  • Traffic and Infrastructure — The A31 bottleneck, poor road maintenance, and flooding along the River Avon have become daily frustrations. Residents pay more in council tax yet see basic repairs delayed while money disappears into consultants and green virtue-signalling.

  • Housing and Overdevelopment — Too many new homes are imposed from above that price out young local families and create suburban sprawl on the edge of the New Forest. We need genuinely affordable housing for people who work and contribute here — not executive estates or retirement complexes that serve external demand.

  • High Street and Local Economy — Our town centre is the heart of Ringwood. We must protect independent shops, the weekly market, and tourism without damaging parking schemes or endless restrictions that hurt businesses.

  • Services and Cost of Living — Rising bills, stretched GP surgeries, and pressure on local schools and care services. Residents feel they are paying more but getting less, and nobody seems to be listening.

Martin believes Ringwood deserves better than managed decline from the Conservatives or tax-and-spend virtue-signalling from the Liberal Democrats. Reform UK offers honest, practical reform.

Martin’s Reform UK Priorities – Local First

  • Protecting Ringwood Residents First — Housing, parking, and council services must prioritise people who live, work, and pay taxes here. We need firm controls on immigration so limited local resources are not silently diluted.

  • Fixing the Basics — Tackle flooding and drainage, sort the A31 traffic properly, repair roads, and cut waste on consultants, DEI programmes, and unrealistic net-zero targets that hit your wallet without delivering results.

  • Supporting Our High Street and Economy — Scrap damaging restrictions and back local businesses, the market, and tourism that keep Ringwood thriving.

  • Safeguarding the Next Generation — No more liberal indoctrination or gender ideology in our schools. Children deserve discipline, high standards, and pride in British history.

  • Defending Free Speech — The right to speak common sense about the issues facing our town without being cancelled or ignored.

  • Protecting Pensioners — Full support for Reform UK’s pledge to maintain the Triple Lock on the state pension — our older residents built this community and deserve security.

During Local Government Reorganisation

Ringwood risks losing its voice in any new unitary structure. Martin will be a safe pair of hands — fighting to keep decision-making close to home and protecting our community, the New Forest, and our services from urban priorities and distant quangos.

Martin is not a career politician. He is a local man who has had enough of excuses and is ready to deliver Local First results with common sense and courage.

Martin’s Promise to Ringwood Residents I will listen, I will fight for you at every level, and I will always put Ringwood families first — no more spin, no more broken promises.
