A Local Voice for Real Change

Dear Residents of North Milton, Milford and Hordle. 

I was born at The Grove at Barton on Sea and have continued to live here my entire life, and in Hordle for over 40 years. My mother also lives independently in the village and I have raised my family here.  I went to our local state schools as did my 3 children. You can’t get more local than me.

I ran a business in Milford with my daughter for several years and it really matters to me that we support our local businesses and revitalise our high streets. I know the pressures business owners are experiencing. 
Our family has always appreciated the privilege of living between the coast and the New Forest and care passionately about our area. We must protect our green spaces at all costs, with very carefully considered and limited housing development, which puts the needs of local people front and centre in all planning decisions, and then only with the necessary infrastructure to support it. 

Council taxes must be kept as low as possible, which can only be achieved through sound financial management. Hampshire County Council has allowed £138 million of debt to accrue, and with an outlay of £37 million on asylum seekers we have the second largest expenditure in the UK. This debt has degraded the ability of Hampshire County Council to provide the public services we all expect, which is why we’re now experiencing record levels of potholes throughout the county.
