Dibden & Hythe
Jon Golding
A Local Resident Since 1962 – Bringing Experience and Common Sense
Jon Golding has lived in the area since 1962. After serving in the Royal Artillery, his first job was at Lloyds Bank in Hythe. Since 1974 he has worked in taxation, including 11 years lecturing on tax in the Far East. He now writes on tax matters for magazines and book publishers.
With deep local roots and a lifetime of professional experience, Jon is standing as the Reform UK candidate for Dibden & Hythe because he believes it’s time to put residents first and tackle the practical issues that matter most.
Jon’s Local Priorities
-
Fix Our Potholed Roads Badly maintained roads cause delays, increase vehicle repair costs, and damage the enjoyment of visitors who help support our local economy. Jon will push for proper road repairs and better maintenance across the South Waterside.
-
Protecting Our Young People Jon wants to see local schools offer self-defence classes for girls to help keep them safe in the future. He also believes children should leave school with a practical understanding of taxation and their future employers’ legal responsibilities — knowledge he is well-qualified to help deliver.
-
Creating Better Job Opportunities Jon proposes promoting Dibden & Hythe as an attractive location linked to the Solent Tax Free Zone to bring new employers and tax-advantaged job opportunities for our young people and the wider community.
-
Tackling Fly-Tipping Fly-tipping is a growing scourge across our area. Jon believes stronger enforcement and clearer deterrents are needed to protect our countryside and keep Dibden & Hythe clean and attractive.
Jon is a long-standing local resident with real-world experience in finance, taxation, and public service. He is committed to Local First principles — putting the interests of people who live and work in the South Waterside ahead of distant bureaucracy, wasteful schemes, and top-down targets.
If elected on 7th May, Jon will bring common sense, practical solutions, and a determined voice for South Waterside residents.
