Simon Smith Reform UK Candidate for Brockenhurst

Simon Smith is a well-known and respected resident of the Brockenhurst division with deep roots in the New Forest community. A former Conservative councillor, Simon made the principled decision to join Reform UK because the old way of doing politics — managed decline, rising costs, and ignoring local voices — is no longer working for the people who live here.

With years of experience representing local residents, Simon knows Brockenhurst, its villages, and the unique challenges of living in the New Forest. He joined Reform UK to deliver Local First politics with the experience and common sense voters can trust.

The Challenges Facing Brockenhurst

Brockenhurst is a beautiful village and the division spans the centre of the New Forest with a strong community spirit, but it faces real pressures that the old parties have failed to fix:

  • Housing and Overdevelopment — Too many new homes are imposed from above that do not meet the needs of local families. We need genuinely affordable housing for people who live and work here, not endless suburban sprawl that eats into green spaces.

  • Traffic and Infrastructure — Congestion on local roads, poor drainage, flooding risks, and the impact of visitor traffic are daily frustrations. Residents pay higher council tax but see basic repairs delayed.

  • Protecting the Forest and Village Character — We must safeguard our precious New Forest environment and the rural Brockenhurst Division against inappropriate development and distant quangos.

  • High Street and Local Services — Supporting local shops, pubs, and services while controlling costs that hit families and pensioners hardest.

  • Cost of Living Pressures — Paying more for less, with stretched GP surgeries, schools under liberal influence, and services diluted by external demands.

Simon’s Reform UK Priorities – Local First

Simon stands for practical, common-sense action:

  • Housing for Locals First — Prioritise homes for people who live, work, and contribute in Brockenhurst over external or speculative development along with wokring for a local connections test.

  • Fixing the Basics — Tackle flooding and drainage, improve road safety and maintenance, and cut wasteful spending on consultants, DEI schemes, and unrealistic net-zero targets.

  • Protecting Our Community — Defend the New Forest’s unique character and ensure limited local services go first to residents.

  • Safeguarding Children and Education — No more liberal indoctrination or gender ideology in schools. Children deserve discipline, high standards, and pride in British history.

  • Supporting Pensioners — Full backing for Reform UK’s pledge to protect the Triple Lock on the state pension — our older residents deserve security.

  • Free Speech and Accountability — The right to speak honestly about local issues without fear of cancellation.

During Local Government Reorganisation

With major changes coming to local councils, Simon will be a safe pair of hands. He will fight to protect Brockenhurst’s voice, prevent urban priorities from dominating, and ensure our community, the Forest, and essential services are not diluted or lost in bigger unitary structures.

Simon is not interested in party games or Westminster spin. He is a local man who has seen the system fail residents too many times and is now fighting for real, honest change with Reform UK.

Simon’s Promise to Brockenhurst Residents I will listen to you, fight for your interests at every level, and always put local families and our New Forest way of life first. No more excuses — just sensible, Local First action.

If you want experienced representation that puts Brockenhurst first, vote for real change.

Vote Simon Smith. Vote Reform UK.

Brockenhurst First. Britain First.
